Edinburgh’s burgeoning tech sector fuelling growth of flexible office space

Rapid growth in Edinburgh’s technology sector is increasing demand for high quality yet flexible office space in the Scottish capital, a report by Knight Frank reveals.

The independent property consultancy’s inaugural “Future of our cities” report found the number of jobs in the TMT (technology, media and telecommunications) sector in Edinburgh is expected to increase by 21 per cent over the next decade, ahead of the UK cities average of 16 per cent. TMT companies accounted for 34 per cent of office take-up in Edinburgh in the first three quarters of 2019 – outperforming London’s 21 per cent take-up and the UK cities average of 23 per cent.
