CA Ventures (CA), a vertically integrated real estate investment management company, has appointed Stuart Bridge as vice president of asset management for its European platform.

Bridge will oversee portfolio and asset management for the firm’s London-based practice—driving value through strategic investment and operational tactics across CA’s growing portfolio of high-quality purpose-built student accommodation assets.

“Since opening our European headquarters in 2018, we have been hyper-focused on growing a team of top industry talent – a team that can successfully execute on our ambitious plans for growth and innovation,” says Carlo Matta, head of Europe for CA. “With USD730 million of development underway and a robust USD760 million pipeline, we are excited to be taking the next step in our strategic growth plan with the formation of a dedicated asset management department. We are thrilled to welcome Stuart to the team and have no doubt that he will hit the ground running given his extensive industry experience.”

Bridge joins CA as the company has seen profound success across its student properties in Sheffield, England and the Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh ahead of the 2021/2022 school year. Since the inception of its European business, CA has commenced development on nearly USD500 million of student housing in the UK and Ireland. CA has additional projects scheduled to deliver in 2022 and 2023 across the UK, Ireland, Spain and Italy.

“As a pioneer of the US student housing market, CA is well positioned to elevate the standard of quality for PBSA and operational services in the UK and Europe,” says Bridge. “I’m excited to apply my asset management background to further strengthen and scale CA’s operations across the UK and Europe. CA is incredibly well positioned to execute on its strategic growth strategy through the delivery of revolutionary communities that address the underserved PBSA market in the UK and Europe, and I am thrilled to be a part of this team.”

With nearly a decade’s worth of asset management experience, Bridge joins CA from LaSalle Investment Management, where he served as asset manager of its central London business space, overseeing a portfolio of six central London multi-let office buildings valued in excess of GBP300 million. There, he managed leasing campaigns and negotiations, instructed and oversaw required landlord refurbishment projects, and provided input into acquisitions and disposals. Bridge has also held roles as a development and investment manager with Viridis Real Estate Services, an investment surveyor at CBRE, and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor whilst working for Savills. Bridge’s extensive network of contacts and asset management experience will prove invaluable as CA delivers on its goal of providing unparalleled value to its stakeholders.
