Old Park Lane Management has appointed James Cooksey as its new Chief Executive, effective September 2021.

Cooksey, currently the Director for Central London at The Crown Estate, will take over from Tim Sketchley, who is stepping down after leading the private property investment company for 12 years and will become a consultant to the business.
Cooksey has driven the successful growth of The Crown Estate in London over the last 12 years, playing a crucial role in the relationship with its joint venture partners, service providers, customers, local government and other stakeholders. He will remain in his current role until July.
Old Park Lane Management is a London-based private investment company formed in 1995, with more than 1.5 million sq ft of assets in the Central London market. Its notable developments include:

• LSQ, the 200,000 sq ft development spanning the west side of Leicester Square and leased to tenants including LEGO, Hearst and the American NFL;

• 20 Ropemaker, a 420,000 sq ft high rise office building in the City, having been 70 per cent pre-let to Linklaters as their global headquarters in one of the London office market’s biggest lettings in 2020;

• 7 Millbank, a proposed redevelopment in the heart of Westminster for a 130,000 sq ft commercial building behind a retained and rebuilt façade, submitted for planning in March, which will be its first carbon neutral-in-use development project in London.
Cooksey says: “I have had the honour of a fantastic 12 years at The Crown Estate, a business with a unique heritage and an exciting future ahead. Now feels like the right time to start a new chapter and I’m very excited to be joining Old Park Lane Management, which has assembled an enviable portfolio of large-scale Central London developments in some of the capital’s best locations. I look forward to the opportunity to build on this legacy as the company continues to evolve. The business has achieved tremendous success under Tim’s stewardship and he will be a hard act to follow, but I will relish the challenge.”
Tim Sketchley, current Chief Executive at Old Park Lane Management Limited, says: “James is the perfect choice to lead the team at Old Park Lane Management for the next phase of expansion, as we move towards completing 20 Ropemaker and starting other exciting projects. I believe his strong relationships with key players in the London market and his understanding of long-term value creation from trophy assets makes him ideal to take the helm for the future.”
