International law firm Osborne Clarke has hired partner Richard Wilkinson who will join the firm's London real estate team.

Previously a Partner at DLA Piper for the last 13 years, Wilkinson has over 25 years’ experience acting on UK and pan European transactions. He advises national and international clients on all aspects of their real estate requirements and brings a wealth of experience in investment, development, landlord and tenant, joint ventures, real estate finance and corporate structured real estate transactions.

Highly regarded by colleagues and clients alike, Wilkinson has been described by the directories as "impressive" (Chambers) and having a "wealth of experience" (Legal 500).

Michelle McGurl, head of Osborne Clarke's Projects, Real Estate and Finance Practice Group, says: "Like most businesses we were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic last year, but we've bounced back with a strong pipeline across all areas. Richard is a top class technical and commercial lawyer with strong client relationships. His appointment will enhance our London team and help to build our international real estate profile to support our clients."

Wilkinson says: "I am hugely excited to join Osborne Clarke. They have a collegiate and supportive approach, and it's clear there are a number of synergies to my practice and their current offering. I look forward to working with the team to support our clients both in the UK and internationally."

Wilkinson's practice complements Osborne Clarke's existing team. Recent matters include leading and managing investment deals for international logistics investors in the EU and the development and implementation of investment structures for UK funds to make investments into the UK senior living sector.
