Battersea Power Station appoints Estates Director
Battersea Power Station has appointed James Carragher as Estates Director together with four additional new colleagues in its Estate Management team.
With Phase 1 already completed the first new residents will be moving into the Grade II* listed Power Station from this Spring and Electric Boulevard, later in the year. Some 500,000 sq ft of office space in the Power Station will also be handed over to Apple to commence fit out for its UK Campus and the Northern Line Extension and Zone 1 London Underground Station at Battersea Power Station will open this Autumn.
Leading the Estate Management team will be James Carragher, who joins as Estates Director and will be responsible for managing the operational performance of Battersea Power Station’s growing estate. James brings with him a wealth of experience delivering quality services to both customers and external stakeholders following nine years at Landsec, most recently as Operations Director for the Central London portfolio, and previously as General Manager for the Nova development in Victoria.
Supporting James in the Estate Management team will be:
David Collins - Head of Retail and Commercial Services. This is a key role ahead of Battersea Power Station becoming home to hundreds of new shops, including the creation of a new High Street at Electric Boulevard, along with new state-of-the art offices. Collins joins from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield where he spent ten years, most recently as Senior Operations Manager.
Yiannis Moraitopolous – Head of Energy Services. Moraitopolous will be responsible for managing Battersea Power Station’s Energy Centre, a vast new subterranean centre located underneath the new six acre public park in front of the Power Station, which will provide energy to the entire 42-acre site.
Nipa Bhanu – Head of Residential Operations (working indirectly for BPS’s managing agents). Bhanu will play an important role in overseeing a smooth and seamless process for all residents moving into their new homes across the estate in the coming months.
Nadeem Ghous Chaudary – Residential Property Manager (working indirectly for BPS’s managing agents). Ghous Chaudary has previously been responsible for the operational management of prestigious prime location buildings.
Simon Murphy, CEO of Battersea Power Station Development Company, says:
“We are reaching a pivotal moment in the transformation of the Battersea Power Station development as the long-awaited vision for this iconic building and the surrounding area becomes a reality. We will soon be welcoming our first residents into the Power Station and to The Electric Boulevard later in the year, and the Northern Line Extension will be operational from the Autumn.
“In line with the progress being made across the site, we are pleased to be strengthening our Estate Management team with this first wave of new hires to be led by James who will be instrumental in overseeing and managing the operational processes involved in the next stages of the project. James and colleagues bring significant experience and expertise, which will be required as we transition towards the opening of the next two phases of the development and we look forward to welcoming them all to the team.”
James Carragher, Estates Director at Battersea Power Station Development Company, says: “2021 is set to be a hugely transformative year for Battersea Power Station and I am pleased to be joining the team at such an exciting stage in its journey. The next 12 months include several notable milestone moments for the Project and I look forward to working with the team to deliver a robust operational strategy to support these.”
