Palace Capital appoints Asset Manager
Palace Capital, a listed property investment company with a diversified portfolio of UK commercial real estate in carefully selected locations outside of London, has appointed Chris Petrie as an asset manager.
Petrie will report to Executive Property Director Richard Starr and support the property team in deploying the Company’s total return strategy and maximising the potential of its portfolio.
Petrie, who has 15 years of experience as a surveyor and asset manager, joins Palace Capital following three years at Maybrook Properties Ltd, a commercial real estate investment and development company. At Maybrook he was responsible for managing a diverse UK portfolio of commercial and residential assets valued at over GBP100 million, including the deployment of value enhancing asset management strategies, acquisitions, disposals, financial reporting and yield analysis.
Chris, a chartered surveyor with an MA in Management from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Real Estate from Edinburgh’s Heriot Watt University, started his career as a surveyor at GVA in 2006. He subsequently undertook asset manager roles at Cushman & Wakefield, the City of London Corporation and at the London Borough of Enfield, before joining Maybrook in 2017.
Richard Starr, Executive Property Director at Palace Capital, says: “We are pleased to be welcoming Chris to our [growing] asset management team, particularly during a challenging market environment where asset management expertise is proving to be a clear differentiator. While the pandemic continues to impact on the sector, our strengthened team is well positioned to maintain the meaningful dialogues we have been having with all of our tenants over the last number of months, to ensure the resilience of our rental income collections, while also preparing for the opportunities we believe will present themselves as we emerge from the pandemic.”
