Harrison Street adds to European investment and research teams

Harrison Street, an investment management firm exclusively focused on alternative real assets, has added three seasoned professionals to its European investment and research teams in London. 

Jose de Pablo, a former Investment Director at Octopus Real Estate, has joined the firm as a Director of Acquisitions – Healthcare, Yasin Ismail, who previously served as a Finance Manager at Round Hill Capital, has joined the firm as a Vice President of Finance, while Philip Wedge-Bernal, a former Associate Director of EMEA Living Research and Strategy at JLL, has joined the firm as an Assistant Vice President on the European Research team.

De Pablo, who will spearhead Harrison Street’s healthcare real estate strategy in Europe, brings over 20 years of global real estate, healthcare and senior living investment experience to Harrison Street. While at Octopus Real Estate, he led retirement living transactions and joint venture partnerships with leading real estate managers. Prior to Octopus Real Estate, de Pablo worked at Colliers International as a Director providing strategic advice for care home, retirement community and hospital deals across Europe. De Pablo has held a number of roles investing in Senior Living since he began his career at Sunrise Senior Living in Washington D.C. He earned a BA from the Universidad de Sevilla and an MBA from INSEAD.
 
Ismail previously led Round Hill Capital’s budgeting, profitability analysis and board reporting functions. Prior to Round Hill, Ismail served as Head of FP&A at Global Student Accommodation. He previously held roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a strategy consultant and senior associate, working across healthcare, insurance and financial services. Ismail is ACA qualified and holds a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics.

Wedge-Bernal will provide analytical analysis and research to support Harrison Street’s European real estate investments and product strategy. Previously, at JLL, Wedge-Bernal supported the growth of the firm’s EMEA Living business, establishing a European residential intelligence hub, which he has since replicated across other living sectors. Prior to JLL, Wedge-Bernal served as a Senior Analyst focused on Real Estate Research at Preqin. He earned a BSc in Financial Economics from the University of Kent.
