Cromwell signs HousingAnywhere at Five55 in Rotterdam
Real estate investor and manager Cromwell Property Group (Cromwell) has signed a lease with HousingAnywhere for the fifth and sixth floors (2,621 sq m) of the Five55 building in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Five55 is a 27-storey building in the heart of Rotterdam, which has been comprehensively renovated by Cromwell. As well as offering spectacular views of the city and its landmarks, including the Maas and Markthal, the building will also be open to the public with a restaurant and coffee bar available for all to use.
Five55 now includes everything a modern office user would expect from such an iconic building, together with underground parking and excellent transport links to the metro, tram and bus stations, which are located in front of the building, and the train station only a five-minute walk away.
Djordy Seelmann, CEO of HousingAnywhere, says: “We are incredibly excited about HousingAnywhere’s growth. Our old office was simply too small and didn’t meet the standards anymore that our highly-skilled workforce expects from a startup that is scaling up, which is why we are looking forward to move into the spacious and newly renovated Five55. Even during the height of the pandemic, we were able to solidify the growth of our business and of the team. With the space and possibilities of our new office, we look forward to continuing our path to becoming Europe’s largest online rental platform by 2022.”
Ben ten Napel, Head of Asset Management Benelux at Cromwell Property Group, says: “This is another example of our ‘Invest to Manage’ strategy in action. At Five55, we’ve been able to completely transform the building and attract high quality occupiers despite the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic.
“Five55 is now one of the most desirable office locations in Rotterdam. As the restaurant and café open, we are confident these additions will enhance the building’s popularity with both the general public and potential occupiers.”
