Avanton reopens Coda marketing suite in Battersea

Investor developer Avanton has reopened its marketing suite at the flagship Coda apartment development in London’s Battersea, with new anti-Coronavirus safeguarding and social distancing procedures in place.

Located on a 2.1-acre island site between York Road and York Place, moments from the River Thames, Coda is designed by architects Patel Taylor, and provides 130 private sale apartments, 24-hour concierge, foyer, club lounge, gymnasium, landscaped gardens, and a new headquarters for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), with apartments priced from GBP510,000 and 70 per cent of the units priced below GBP1,000,000.

Avanton, working with joint sole agents Savills and JLL, has already successfully forward sold or reserved 50 per cent of the apartments inCoda, generating GBP120 million worth of sales at values up to GBP1,404 per sqft. Since the start of 2020 Avanton has already done close to 30 sales deals, making Coda the best selling new homes development in the South West London area.
Avanton has now unveiled a carefully planned three phase campaign to sell the remaining units and launch the development in September 2020. As part of the government’s Housing Market ReStart and Safe Working Charter updates, sales staff will return to work at the marketing suite today to prepare, and the suite will reopen to the public on the 14 May, with new safeguarding procedures in place.
When the Coda marketing suite opens on the 14 May there will be detailed anti-Coronavirus safeguarding and social distancing procedures in place, based on guidance from the Construction Industry Council and the Housing Secretary’s ReStart and Safe Working Charter guidelines.
Under new safeguarding procedures buyers will be encouraged to contact Avanton and schedule an appointment to visit the marketing suite. As per the new guidelines appointments will be focused around off-peak commuter travel times and a minimal number of people attending the visits to assist with social distancing.
At the point-of-entry to the marketing suite branded face masks, gloves and hand sanitiser will be available and signage highlighting the two metre social distancing guidelines in place.
From Monday 18 May, by prior appointment, there is also a dressed showhome available for viewing at Coda which can be accessed at selected times such as weekends and off-peak early evenings when there are no contractors on site. The 790 sqft dressed two bedroom showhome is designed by London Design Group and has ballet themed dressed interiors inspired by the movement, form, creativity and energy associated with dance.
In the showhome a tour will have the benefit of being “contactless” meaning that all the doors have been removed, selected cupboards are open and the lights are turned on so that buyers do not need to touch anything. Whilst a buyer is having a tour of the showhome the sales agent will wait outside the property to assist with health safeguarding.
Avanton have also instructed the sales agents to avoid back-to-back viewings and will carefully control the number of people in the marketing suite to ensure that the government’s health and safety guidelines can be maintained.
The reopened Coda marketing suite will undergoe an enhanced cleaning regime with all touch points regularly sanitised and all sales staff fully briefed on COVID-19 to help ensure that anyone with symptoms will not be on site and will be self-isolating at home to help maintain the safety of customers and other employees.
Avanton is also offering buyers ‘virtual viewings’ – where an applicant can have a remote 360 degree 3D tour of the Coda show home from the safety of their home.
The second phase of the marketing campaign will commence in the second week of September 2020 when Avanton plan to launch two new dressed show apartments, interior designed by Gemma Gordon-Duff of Gordon-Duff & Linton, located on  the 11th floor of the main residential tower. The third phase of the marketing campaign, date and details still to be confirmed, is a photographic exhibition, displaying iconic images of famous past and present dancers and celebrities associated with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

David Ronson, Sales & Marketing Director at Avanton, says: “Coda is a completely unrivalled offering in Battersea and South West London combining striking architecture, beauty and the RAD cultural facilities, whilst also benefitting from exceptional amenities and the highest apartment specification currently available in the area.

“We have had excellent sales momentum at Coda and we want to maintain this. However whilst we are be pleased to be reopening the marketing suite the health and safety of our customers and employees is our number one priority and we will do everything we can to assist in safeguarding against the spread of COVID-19. Based on guidance from the Construction industry Council and the Housing Secretary we have a detailed set of guidelines which mean that we can operate our marketing suite and comply with social distancing requirements.”
