BNP Paribas Asset Management appoints Head of Real Estate Debt
BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has appointed Christophe Montcerisier as Head of Real Estate Debt within its Private Debt & Real Assets (PDRA) investment division.
Montcerisier had been Deputy Head since joining in 2019.
Montcerisier has more than 30 years' experience in the real estate sector in Europe. He joined BNPP AM from Société Générale, where he was a Managing Director within the real estate M&A team.
Montcerisier's career has been spent within European real estate financing, investment and consultancy. Prior to Société Générale, he was Head of Business Development at GE Capital Real Estate in Paris, and was responsible for investing in a pan-European fund. He also spent more than eight years at RBS where he headed the real estate finance team in Paris and had a leadership role in real estate capital investment especially in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Benelux and Sweden.

Montcerisier began his career at Paribas in 1986, before joining the Industrial Bank of Japan in 1994, where he held a number of positions and restructured a portfolio of non-performing loans. In 1996 he joined Merrill Lynch, where he financed private equity funds buying performing and non-performing loans. He joined Citi in 2001, advising listed real estate companies, subsequently working at RBS (2004-11), GE Capital Real Estate (2011-16) and Société Générale 20116-19) before joining BNPP AM in 2019.
Montcerisier graduated from Sciences Po Paris and holds a Master's degree in Finance from Paris Sorbonne. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Institut d'Epargne Immobilière et Foncière (IEIF).
