Deka Immobilien buys B&M Distribution Centre in Bedford
Following a lease-back to B&M Retail Limited, B&M European Value Retail SA has sold 100 per cent of the share capital of Bedford DC Investment Limited, which owns the freehold of the B&M Distribution Centre in Bedford, to to Germany’s Deka Immobilien. The sale price was GBP153.8 million.
The Property comprises a best in class distribution facility, designed by DLA Architects, developed by Bedford DC Investment Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of B&M European Value SA) and was completed to a high specification in September 2019. The Development Manager was UK Land & Property.
The Property provides high specification warehouse and ancillary accommodation extending to circa 1.01 million sq ft, set within a landscaped 64.65 acre site. As part of the transaction B&M Retail Limited took a long term lease commitment over the Property.
The acquisition marks Deka’s return to the UK logistics market following their successful sale of Sainsbury’s Distribution Centre at Waltham Point in 2014.
Savills represented Deka Immobilien on the acquisition whilst DTRE and Brabners represented the seller.
