Orchard Street completes 63,000 sq ft of Leeds warehouse lettings

Orchard Street Investment Management (Orchard Street) has completed two new lettings totalling 63,000 sq ft at Gildersome Spur industrial estate in Leeds, taking the prime warehouse facility to full occupancy.

Gildersome Spur is managed by Orchard Street on behalf of St. James’s Place UK Plc.

A total of five lease agreements were signed at Gildersome Spur over the course of 2019, with two new lettings completed at year end. ARC Building Solutions, a leading manufacturer of specialist fire barriers and tenant at Gildersome Spur since 2013, has relocated to a larger 43,000 sq ft unit within the estate, to facilitate a doubling of its production capacity. Its vacated 20,000 sq ft unit was immediately re-let to CDUK, the solid surfaces company that introduced the iconic marble counter top alternative, Corian, to the UK market. ARC Building Solutions and CDUK will join a diverse mix of occupiers on the estate, including Yodel, CM Downton, DHL, Sharman Shaw, Belgrade Insulation and Calderys UK.

Gildersome Spur comprises 432,000 sq ft of industrial and warehouse accommodation spread across 31 units, and is strategically located seven miles from Leeds City Centre. The well-established hub is the largest single owned industrial estate in Leeds, and offers excellent access to the M621, the M62 and the national motorway network.

Helena Redding, Asset Manager at Orchard Street, says: “Gildersome Spur has proven itself to be a high performing long term hold in Orchard Street’s industrial portfolio, having generated robust demand from leading occupiers looking for prime warehouse space in a strategic location to serve the north of England market. These latest lettings, which have resulted in the estate being fully let, are testament to our team’s active asset management that has ensured the modern warehouse facilities remain highly desirable.”

Carter Towler and Gent Visick acted as joint letting agents.
