Capital appeal

Despite ongoing Brexit uncertainty, London has seemingly lost none of its appeal for long-term commercial real estate investors having topped Savills Investment Management’s Dynamic Cities Index for the third consecutive year. And as Emily Perryman reveals in this week’s newsletter, the UK capital is a clear winner ranking No1 in five of the six core categories used to compile the index.

In funds news this week, we have details of a new private equity real estate offering from BaltCap focusing on investment in Finland and Sweden as well as the ‘new Nordics’ – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

In deals, we have news of AXA IM - Real Assets EUR531 million acquisition of a 2,300-room European hotels, plus the acquisition by Benson Elliot and Schroders of Disneyland Paris hotel portfolio for EUR240 million.

Elsewhere, Silverton has announced a new Frankfurt-based subsidiary dedicated to launching real estate investment funds, initiating club deals and managing individual client instructions or separate accounts.
