Invesco Real Estate (IRE) has appointed Mike Bessell as Senior Director - European Research Strategist to head up the firm’s dedicated, in-house research team across Europe, and to add further depth of experience to the firm’s in-house global research team, spearheaded by Tim Bellman.
Mike will also play a key role in IRE Europe’s investment strategy group by providing greater standardisation on the analysis of investment mandates.
Andy Rofe, Managing Director – Europe, Invesco Real Estate, says: “Mike’s appointment is key to our business, both globally and in Europe, as he helps to shape, develop and communicate the forecasts and strategy recommendations that are fundamental to IRE’s client mandates and also reinforce our investment strategy group as we seek to generate even better performance for our clients.
“Mike will head up our long-standing team of experienced research professionals based in London, Paris and Munich, who between them cover all of the UK and European real estate markets, cities and sectors. His appointment will strengthen and grow our research capabilities at a time when our clients increasingly seek strategic direction for achieving their investment objectives, whether it be global or multi-asset diversification, income-creation or higher-returning opportunities.”
With over 12 years’ research experience across the UK and Europe Mike joins IRE from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was head of European real estate equity research.
Bessell says: "I am really excited to be joining Invesco Real Estate, and to participate in the further growth of this business. I look forward to further developing IRE’s business across the UK and European real asset markets, and helping the team develop our enhanced investment insights in these turbulent markets."
