Threadneedle UK Property Authorised Investment Fund reaches GBP1.5bn

Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ Threadneedle UK Property Authorised Investment Fund (the Fund) managed by Gerry Frewin, has reached GBP1.5 billion in assets under management.

The Fund has continued to experience net inflows and subsequently completed more than forty commercial property acquisitions during 2017, amounting to more than GBP400m.

Frewin says: “A diverse portfolio, providing high and sustainable income return is what we believe investors are looking for from their property allocation, and our Fund has consistently delivered that with a yield of 6.2 per cent, 1.2 per cent higher than its benchmark. Each property in the portfolio has been meticulously analysed prior to purchase and selected on its ability to provide great value for our investors.  For example, the Fund is benefitting from an overweight position in the Industrial sector that has delivered a 21.6 per cent total return over the past 12 months.”

Alastair Caw, Head of UK Wholesale, says: “Gerry and the wider property team’s approach and investment philosophy has ensured the Fund has maintained steady inflows through all market conditions.  Our consistent investment strategy is well understood by our investors.  With traditional sources of income becoming harder to find, we are seeing more and more investors are turning to higher-yielding property funds for their income needs.”
