NEINVER has announced 19 April as the opening date for the Phase II expansion of Halle Leipzig The Style Outlets. Construction works are on schedule and progressing rapidly, and the extension will be completed in time for the second anniversary of the centre.
"We are delighted with how construction works are progressing and we are pleased to announce the opening of Phase II of Halle Leipzig The Style Outlets on 19 April. The attractiveness of our centre will then be further strengthened by great new brands," says Sebastian Sommer, Country Head Germany and Business Development Director of NEINVER.
With the second construction phase, the lettable space will be increased from the current approx. 11,000 sq m to more than 18,000 sq m. As a result of the expansion, about 40 more stores will be added and around 250 additional full-time and part-time jobs will be created.
New brands such as Triumph, Skechers or Odlo will join the centre’s exclusive brand mix of international and German brands such as Adidas, Nike, Guess, Jack Wolfskin, Levi’s, Desigual, Marc O’Polo, Gant, and Daniel Hechter.
On the occasion of the expansion, NEINVER recently held a job fair in cooperation with the local labour office with the participation of more than 20 brands to enhance employment opportunities for local residents and help retailers in their search for dedicated employees.
The opening of the Phase II extension strengthens NEINVER’s strategy to expand its brand The Style Outlets in the European outlet sector, where it currently manages a total of 15 centres and 293,400 sq m of gross leasable area (GLA).
Phase II will open under the management of Jens Kahlow, recently appointed by NEINVER as new centre manager for Halle Leipzig The Style Outlets. In his new role, Kahlow will manage, coordinate and supervise the centre’s operations.
Kahlow has close to 20 years’ experience in the retail sector, most recently as Regional Manager at CCC Germany, one of the largest footwear companies in Central Europe. He previously worked at Peek & Cloppenburg and NKD Germany in different sales and management positions.
"Halle Leipzig The Style Outlets has shown excellent performance during its first two years of activity and has built itself into an important shopping destination in Central Germany," says Kahlow. "I am very excited to take over the management of the centre at such a special time, one month ahead of the opening of Phase II. My goal is to further strengthen its position as a benchmark centre and continue delivering outstanding results."
Halle Leipzig The Style Outlets is strategically located along the A9 motorway connecting Munich and Berlin, in the town of Sandersdorf-Brehna, Saxony-Anhalt, and is close to strong regional hubs such as Leipzig, Halle, Dessau, Magdeburg, Chemnitz, Dresden and Erfurt, placing the centre in a strategic position. Since its opening in April 2016, the first outlet centre in central Germany has welcomed more than two million visitors and has seen double-digit growth in both footfall and sales.
