Rockwood Capital names Sharon Ann Miller as managing director
San Francisco-based Rockwood Capital, a private real estate investment company, has announced that veteran real estate investment professional Sharon Ann M. 'Samm' Miller has joined the firm as a managing director.
Miller will be responsible for leading the firm's investor relations function as well as focusing on client service, marketing and capital raising.
Rockwood chief executive Ed Kavounas says: "We are very excited to have Samm join our team, particularly at this time in the real estate cycle. She brings a broad and deep knowledge of the real estate industry and a strong understanding of our clients' needs and the challenges they face in this environment.
'Her perspective, combined with our track record, and the strength of our team, will be very valuable as we continue to focus on ways to satisfy our clients' needs and exceed their expectations."
Miller, 44, has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry.
From April 2005 to January 2007, she was the global managing director of Trammell Crow's global services group in New York.
Earlier she was with Hart Advisers as managing partner for investment strategy and J.P. Morgan Investment Management, where she was a vice-president responsible for portfolio and relationship management.
Miller was also with J.W. O'Connor as a vice-president for marketing and client services and two years as an asset/portfolio manager. Previously she held various posts at TIAA-CREF ranging from corporate facilities to debt underwriting, transaction restructuring and portfolio management. She also has worked as an architectural designer, project manager and construction site superintendent.
"Rockwood has a great foundation: a respected track record, an obvious focus on and commitment to its investors, and the dedicated and experienced real estate practitioners ready, willing and able to make the tough decisions for the benefit of their funds and their clients,' Miller says. 'I am confident that with this foundation, we will continue to evolve as a client-focused real estate resource for the institutional investment marketplace.'
