LaSalle Investment Management has appointed Daniel Pottorff as a director in the firm’s debt investments and special situations team, which currently manages EUR1.9 billion in capital.
Portoff’s focus will be on Western European investments and will report into group heads Amy Aznar and Michael Zerda.
In addition to investing on behalf of the group’s two funds that are currently investing, LaSalle Real Estate Debt Strategies II and LaSalle Residential Finance, Pottorff will help the team access special situations opportunities in Europe, including loan portfolio, corporate, and equity transactions.
Aznar says: “The debt investments and special situation team has grown significantly over the last few years and offers a diverse range of products in the real estate market. Along with this growth we continue to add highly skilled and experienced talent. Daniel is a strategic addition to the senior team, who will help us continue to drive growth and add value to our platform, which has become one of Europe’s largest alternative debt providers.”
Pottorff joins LaSalle from Strategic Value Partners, where he was vice president with a focus on sourcing and underwriting European real estate back debt investments. Before that he worked at Morgan Stanley and British Land.
His appointment follows the additions of Greg Russell as portfolio manager, and analysts Bill Valatsos and Damien Pasini to the debt investments and special situations team.
