Real estate firm Hines has promoted Paul Gomopoulos to managing director for Greece.
He will be relocating to Athens to begin Hines’ operations in Greece.
Gomopoulos joined Hines in 2006 working primarily on the Hines European Development Fund I and II as well as a fund focused on Spanish resort and residential projects.
He has been closely involved with the Porta Nuova mixed-use project in Milan and was appointed to the fund committee for the project in 2010.
Over the past 24 months, he has established and developed the Hines brand in Greece, building relationships, as well as sourcing and structuring deals for the firm in a challenging and promising market environment.
Going forward, Gomopoulos will take the local leadership role for Hines Greece.
"We believe that the time is right for Hines to bring its world class real estate development and investment capabilities to Greece. The country is transforming and the entrance of Hines and other institutional quality players will further promote this transformation," says Gomopoulos.
