La Française has appointed Patrice Genre as chairman of La Française Real Estate Partners, the new entity created to structure the firm’s French real estate offer targeting institutional investors.
Drawing on over 25 years' experience in real estate and finance, Genre will be in charge of developing the new real estate investment mandates offer geared towards institutional investors as well as the roll-out of Core/Core +, Value-Added and Opportunistic investment strategies.
Genre started his career as Financial Attaché for the French Embassy in Japan, where he remained until 1992 when he joined the Suez-Lyonnaise des Eaux Group as head of international real estate investments, a position he held for four years.
In 1996, he joined Goldman Sachs in Paris, first as head of acquisitions, then head of debt management and finally head of portfolio management.
In June 1999, Genre founded DTZ Asset Management, in partnership with DTZ, where he served as chief executive officer until October 2013.
