bfinance, the independently owned investment consultancy, has appointed real assets specialist Derek Williams to the role of managing director, private markets.
Williams will advise bfinance clients on allocation and investment in global real estate and infrastructure investment opportunities.
Williams joins bfinance from Russell Investments where he was head of private real estate managing a team of eight investment professionals and covering real estate and infrastructure investments.
During his eight years at Russell Investments (2005-2013), Williams managed two global REIT funds as well as two segregated mandates and was responsible for the allocation and management of more than USD1.8bn in discretionary client assets invested into private real estate.
He is a member of the IPD Global Pooled Property Funds Index Committee and chair of the APC panels for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
