Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) has appointed Michael Lawrence as a fund manager in its property team, reporting to Gareth Dickinson, head of property.
Originally joining RLAM in March 2012 in a temporary capacity, Lawrence’s appointment as a permanent member of the team took effect from June 2013.
A retail sector specialist, Lawrence works across Royal London’s Life, Unit Linked and Royal Liver funds, focusing on asset management and asset enhancement initiatives within RLAM’s retail portfolio in order to generate added value for investors. He is also responsible for the acquisition and disposal of retail properties within these funds.
Lawrence previously worked in Strutt & Parker’s retail investment department, having begun his career at CBRE.
“RLAM has an experienced and highly regarded property investment team and having worked within it in a temporary capacity, I’m now very pleased to be joining it on a permanent basis,” says Lawrence. “RLAM has a strong presence in the retail market across the UK and is involved a number of high profile developments, and I look forward to delivering added value from our retail portfolio for the benefit of our investors.”
Gareth Dickinson, RLAM’s head of property, says: “Michael has proved to be a valuable member of the team since joining RLAM in a temporary capacity last year, and I am pleased that he has now joined us on a permanent basis. Having been in the industry for over 20 years, Michael is a highly experienced surveyor with excellent industry knowledge and contacts and strong credentials in the UK retail sector. I have every confidence that this experience and expertise will enhance our active investment approach.”
