Prime Development has continued its expansion with the opening of the Prime Mall shopping centre in the Turkish city of Gaziantep.
Prime Mall Gaziantep was constructed in 15 months and opens 90 per cent pre-let. The investment volume amounts to EUR125m.
Prime Mall Gaziantep is the biggest shopping centre in the region with 169 shops, located on four retail levels with a total GLA of 54,100 sq m and 1,518 parking spaces.
Gaziantep is the eighth largest city in Turkey with 1.75 million inhabitants and is – after Istanbul – the country’s fastest growing city.
By 2025, the population is predicted to have risen to around three million inhabitants.
Due to the excellent traffic connections more than 700,000 inhabitants are currently within a 15-minute drive of the new shopping centre, with an additional 750,000 within 15 to 30 minutes.
“With our three shopping centres we are the dominant market player in the region,” says Carsten Probst, co-founder and shareholder of Prime Development.
“Modern shopping centres are not only shopping destinations but at the same time a lively local market place and a meeting point to spend time and relax. Pure consumption is outdated, today leisure life, indulgence and fun are important pillars of a modern shopping centre concept,” says Philipp von Wilmowsky, managing shareholder and co-founder of Prime Development.
