Peakside Capital, a specialist European real estate private equity firm, has appointed Otis Spencer as a managing director of the Peakside Group and president of Peakside Polonia Management (PPM), a real estate fund management business in the CEE.
Working alongside Stefan Aumann, a founding partner at Peakside, Spencer will be responsible for sourcing new business opportunities and further expanding Peakside’s Polish platform as well as supporting Aumann and the PPM team with the management of Polonia Property Fund I and Polonia Property Fund II.
Spencer, who has extensive experience across nine CEE countries within the office, retail, residential and logistics sectors, joins Peakside following his role as co-head/managing director of KSP Real Estate Investment Management. Prior to KSP REIM, he was managing director/co-head Europe and an investment committee member at Heitman International, where he was for seven years. While at Heitman Spencer was based in Warsaw, from where he directed portfolio management for Heitman’s European private equity group and was active in originating transactions and capital raising. He has also held senior roles with ABP Investments (now APG), ING Real Estate and RREEF.
Aumann says: “Otis’s extensive knowledge and proven track record of working in the CEE region across various asset classes will be invaluable to Peakside as we further expand our platform in Poland, which was started with the acquisition of PPM in August 2012. I am delighted that we have been able to secure someone of Otis’s calibre to our team and we are confident that his wealth of experience in the CEE region will prove a vital additional resource as we consolidate and grow our operations and capability.”
Spencer says: “Peakside Polonia Management has already demonstrated its ambition to become a major fund and asset management operation in CEE and I look forward to joining the company at such an exciting stage in its evolution.”
