Palmer Capital, the London-based real estate investment and asset management group, has appointed Nick Cooper as a director and deputy chairman with effect from 1 September 2014.
Cooper joins with a remit to help oversee the growth of the business, both in supporting the nine UK property companies in which it is a shareholder and the further development of its investment relations team.
He will use his global experience to support Palmer Capital’s offices in continental Europe and Asia.
Cooper was previously a senior member of the US-based Townsend Group, a provider of global investment management solutions in real estate and real assets and with oversight in excess of USD150bn. During his time with Townsend, Cooper lived and worked in both the UK and US and oversaw the development of its European and Asian businesses.
Prior to working with Townsend he was a senior member of ING Real Estate and CEO of ING Real Estate Select.
Cooper is also the former chairman of the Association of Real Estate Funds in the UK, a property industry group open to fund managers and others involved in the property industry.
