Bari Group opens first Element Hotel in Europe at Gateway Gardens
Bari Group has opened the first Element Hotel in Europe in Frankfurt's new Gateway Gardens district.
Conceived as an “extended stay hotel” the Element Frankfurt Airport opened for business on 29 August 2014.
In addition to 133 studios and suites, it includes the Spanish restaurant Limones, an espresso bar, two meeting rooms, and a gym.
The hotel was designed by the architectural firm of Neumann Architekten, Frankfurt am Main. The project development for the new eight-storey building – raised on a plot of about 1,800 square metres directly next to the central park of Gateway Gardens – was realised by the companies OFB Projektentwicklung and Gross & Partner Grundstücksentwicklungsgesellschaft.
With a projected gross floor area of 700,000 square metres on an estate of 35 hectares, Gateway Gardens counts among the largest urban district developments of any airport city in Europe.
The Munich-based Bari Group, which opened this first European hotel of the Element brand that is owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, was also responsible for the implementation and adaptation of the concept in Frankfurt. Key aspects both for the construction and the operation of the hotel are sustainability, environmental awareness, and efficiency. The Element Frankfurt Airport is the first of up to ten Element brand hotels that is to be created in Europe under the aegis of Bari Group over the next few years.
“Introducing an innovative hotel concept like that of the Element brand in Gateway Gardens presented a one-off opportunity for us. With one of the world's largest airports in the immediate vicinity, this new forward-looking business quarter offers perfect conditions for our long-term guests. When the chance presented itself to open Europe's first hotel of the Element brand here, we did not hesitate for a moment,” says Marco Bari, managing director and CEO of Bari Group.
