Neuberger Berman Global Real Estate Securities Group hire Gillian Tiltman as European portfolio manager

Neuberger Berman has appointed Gillian Tiltman as a portfolio manager for Europe within its global real estate securities group as the firm continues to develop its global REIT capabilities.

Tiltman will be based in London and will report to Steve Shigekawa, senior portfolio manager, and head of the Neuberger Berman Global Real Estate Securities Group.

Formed in 2002, the Neuberger Berman Global Real Estate Securities Group has approximately USD2.3 billion in AUM and invests primarily in real estate investment trusts, seeking stable income and long-term capital growth by investing in a diversified portfolio of real estate securities.

Tiltman will be responsible for constructing and managing assets invested in Europe within the global real estate strategy. Her hire marks the further expansion of the firm’s global real estate securities efforts and follows the recent appointment of Anton Kwang as a portfolio manager for the Asia Pacific region based in Hong Kong. Both hires demonstrate the firm’s commitment to deepening its investment capabilities across the global real estate markets.

“Gillian’s appointment displays our commitment to building a truly global team able to offer comprehensive coverage of the real estate securities markets. We believe our Global REIT team can address investor’s needs for portfolio diversification and stable income with total return potential” said Steve Shigekawa.

“Gillian's hire reflects the increasing client demand we see for global strategies. Her expertise as a real estate portfolio manager and experience in this region will add to an already strong real estate offering,” says Dik van Lomwel, Head of EMEA and Latin America.

Tiltman was most recently at M&G Investments in London where for the past four years she served as a portfolio manager for a global real estate securities fund with responsibility for asset allocation and stock picking decisions. Prior to her portfolio manager role, she spent two years as a dedicated fund analyst. Prior to M&G Investments, Tiltman served as an analyst within the Municipal Housing Finance Investment Banking team at Merrill Lynch in NY.  She began her career in 2004 at Deutsche Bank Securities, New York, where she was a member of the product management team. Tiltman is a graduate of Princeton University.
