In addition, the firm has further strengthened its team with two appointments into newly created roles. Rikesh Parmar has been appointed as head of corporate development, and John Kehoe as an assistant director in the UK transactions team.
Bains, newly appointed partner – fund management, joined Rockspring in January 2009 as a fund manager. Bains is primarily responsible for the fund management of the UK Value series of funds, and also oversees Rockspring’s fund advisory team. He is currently leading the fundraising for UK Value 2 which is anticipating a first close imminently.
Walsh, newly appointed partner – transactions, joined Rockspring in 2005 as a member of the European transaction team. He is primarily responsible for European transactions for Rockspring’s separate account clients; he also oversees the fund advisory team alongside Bains. Since 2005, he has invested approximately EUR1.2bn of equity in over 40 transactions across nine European countries.
Parmar, joining as head of corporate development, will work closely with Rockspring’s executive, strategy and operations committees on various strategic and operational initiatives. Prior to this he held the position of finance director at a private equity firm, and has several years of international experience with Ernst & Young and Deloitte.
Kehoe, joining as an assistant director in the UK transactions team, will be responsible for the origination and execution of investment opportunities, as well as the opportune disposal of currently held investments. With eight years’ experience across all main property sectors in the UK and continental Europe, he has notable experience and knowledge across a broad base of transaction activities, including asset management and transaction structuring, occupational and corporate real estate transactions and real estate debt and equity origination. He joins Rockspring from Round Hill Capital, where he was a vice president, first in the asset management team and, latterly, in the originations and execution team.
Edmund Craston, managing director at Rockspring, says: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome Richard and Tom to the partnership at Rockspring. I have worked with both of them for several years and their promotions are testament to their dedication and hard work in their respective roles, and the impact they have had on the success of the business throughout their careers at Rockspring.
“In addition, the appointments of Rikesh and John reflect the continued growth of the firm and team. They are both high calibre professionals who will add significant value to our business, and we welcome them to Rockspring.”
