Empire State Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust with office and retail properties in Manhattan and the greater New York metropolitan area, has appointed Salvatore Rappa as assistant general counsel.
Rappa joins the company from Cohen & Steers, where he spent the last nine years and was most recently senior vice president and associate general counsel.
From 2000 to 2004, he was a vice president and senior counsel at BlackRock and before that he worked as an associate at both Battle Fowler and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson.
"We are excited to add Sal to our legal team, as we augment our department to serve the needs of a public company," says Thomas N Keltner, Jr, executive vice president and general counsel of the company. "Sal brings substantial public company experience and knowledge to our group, and he will play an important role here. We look forward to his contributions."
