Cole to be added to several FTSE NAREIT and FTSE EPRA/NAREIT indices
Net lease real estate investment trust Cole Real Estate Investments has been selected for inclusion in the FTSE NAREIT US Real Estate Index Series, as well as the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Real Estate Index Series.
Cole's inclusion in the following indices is expected to be effective after market close on 20 September 2013:
• FTSE NAREIT Composite Index
• FTSE NAREIT All Equity REITs Index
• FTSE NAREIT Equity REITs Index
• FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Developed Index
"Inclusion in the FTSE NAREIT and FTSE EPRA/NAREIT indexes recognises the high-quality, scalable net lease portfolio we have assembled," says Marc Nemer (pictured), chief executive officer of Cole Real Estate Investments. "Our addition in the FTSE NAREIT and other leading indexes demonstrates that our key messages and long-term strategies are resonating in the marketplace."
According to FTSE, the US Real Estate Index Series is designed to present investors with a comprehensive family of REIT performance indexes that spans the commercial real estate space across the US economy. The index series provides investors with exposure to all investment and property sectors, while the more narrowly focused property sector and sub-sector indexes provide the facility to concentrate commercial real estate exposure in more selected markets.
The Global Real Estate Index Series is designed to represent general trends in eligible real estate equities worldwide. Relevant real estate activities are defined as the ownership, disposure and development of income-producing real estate.
Both FTSE index series are used extensively by investors worldwide for investment analysis, performance measurement, asset allocation and portfolio hedging.
