David Phillips appoints John Hawkins as non-executive chairman
Property services company David Phillips has appointed John Hawkins as non-executive chairman.
Hawkins (pictured) will work closely with the board to help guide strategy and counsel on a part-time basis.
The appointment follows the investment of GBP8m in the company by FF&P Private Equity, the private equity business of Fleming Family & Partners, in support of a management buy-out of the business.
Hawkins has experience across a breadth of sectors, most recently serving as chairman of Psion, a mobile computer equipment company, and chairman of Genus, a biotechnology company where he has been instrumental in leading the development of teams through organic as well as acquisition-led growth both in the UK and internationally.
Nicholas Gill, chief executive of David Phillips, says: “We are very pleased to have John join as chairman to help with the development of the company as we seek to achieve ambitious but demanding goals over the next few years.”
Hawkins says: “I am delighted to join the team and believe that the market opportunities for the growth of David Phillips are tremendous. The management, combined with the expertise and resources of Fleming Family & Partners, make for an unrivalled partnership and I look forward to contributing to the company’s continued growth.”
