Private equity investment firm HIG Capital’s real estate investment affiliate HIG Realty Partners has appointed Ira Weidhorn as co-head and Managing Director. HIG Realty Partners will make opportunistic investments in real estate across all property types, with a specific focus on special situations. Weidhorn has fifteen years of experience in real estate investing and will be located in HIG's New York office.

Before joining HIG, Weidhorn was a Managing Principal and head of the New York office for Lubert-Adler Partners, a real estate private equity firm where he was responsible for sourcing and structuring new acquisitions as well as the asset management of certain investments. Ira earned an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is also a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in History.
