Charter Reit appoints chief financial officer

Charter Real Estate Investment Trust has appointed Dionne Barnes as chief financial officer.

Patrick Miniutti, Charter Reit's chief executive, says: "We thank Floriana Cipollone, our former chief financial officer, for her excellent service to the Reit and its unit holders, particularly during the transition period between the former management of Charter Reit and the management that is now being provided by Lapp Global Asset Management and we welcome Dionne Barnes as the new chief financial officer of Charter Reit."

Barnes is also the vice president of finance for the real estate operations of League Assets.

Prior to joining League, Barnes worked in a variety of industries including oil and gas with ExxonMobil and Suncor Energy; electrical energy supply and renewable energy development with Enmax; and real estate development and construction with Carma Developers, a subsidiary of Brookfield Properties.

Barnes was also a senior manager at Deloitte & Touche in its Calgary office.

Charter Reit is an open-end real estate investment trust established under the laws of the Province of Ontario. It is focused on acquiring and managing a portfolio of retail and mixed-use retail community and neighbourhood centres, generally in the mid-market deal size range of USD10m to USD40m, from both primary and secondary markets throughout Canada.
