Coba appoints David Richards as chairman

Property investment firm Coba has appointed David Richards as non-executive chairman.

Richards (pictured) has over 30 years’ banking experience initially working for Grindlays Bank in London, Zurich and Delhi before joining Citicorp Investment Bank in 1986.

He spent ten years with Citibank Private Bank as head of UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Greece and Israel before joining Credit Suisse as head of private banking and Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch as chief executive and vice chairman.

He remains a senior adviser to the Lombard Odier Group.

Graham Gould, Coba managing director, says: “Our focus has always been on family offices and very high net worth individuals who we believe are not usually served well by the property investment sector. We aim to be the pre-eminent firm in this area and David’s appointment is exciting as he has a wealth of experience which will allow us to refine our proposition and accelerate our growth.”

Richards adds: “Property is of major interest to private investors particularly at this stage of the cycle. Coba has a highly experienced team operating with ingenuity and integrity in both the residential and commercial sectors. This is what attracted me to the firm and I am looking forward to working with them.”
