Internos moves to London West End

Internos Real Investors, the pan European real estate fund manager, has moved to its permanent new home in London’s West End.

The new office is located at 65 Grosvenor Street, London, W1K 1JH.

The move follows the integration, re-organisation and rationalisation of the recently acquired GPT Halverton property fund and asset management business.

Internos, founded in 2008, now manages EUR1.9bn of assets across six countries in five funds and two separate accounts. After an initial period of restructuring the business, Internos now has an appropriate cost base and a stable platform from which to exploit improving market conditions in Europe.

The team, totalling 85 in the five offices, specialises in retail, industrial and office fund and asset management throughout Europe.

Jos Short (pictured), chairman and founding partner of Internos, has taken on the role of new business and capital relationships with investors and banks. Short has 26 years of experience in the European investment banking and real estate investment management businesses.

Andrew Thornton, also founding partner of the company, has taken on the role of chief executive. Hew has 20 years experience in the property and investment management business.

Fund management will be headed by Matt Walker. He has 18 years of property experience gained on Continental Europe, Asia and Australia covering the retail, office and industrial sectors. Previously he was a senior fund director with The GPT Group and a partner at Cushman and Wakefield within the capital transactions team working in Europe and Asia.

Short says: " In the first 90 days we have really rolled our sleeves up and got on with the many tasks in hand. With our UK team of 35 real estate professionals and our continental offices in Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Berlin and Frankfurt, our intentions are as clear as when we established Internos at the start of 2008: To offer to our clients and investors the advantages of: deep, hard-won expertise, high-level contacts and relationships, economy in transaction and, above all, rigour and speed in decision and a wide and wise eye for opportunity.”
